Bio

American Artist Eleah Dalgleish is working to expand the way natural material interacts with art. Her emphasis on experimentation developing new rusting techniques and curious mark-making aids as a familiar through line in presenting new considerations of how humans connect and separate physically, mentally, and emotionally. Heavily influenced by the romantics and the sublime with critiques of the developing world she questions the collective understanding of how interpersonal relationships are conducted.

Artist Statement

I work primarily in mixed-media both with sculptural and two-dimensional work that utilizes experimentation in materiality and mark-making. I employ classical and prehistorical imagery in analyzing the universal recurring elements in human connectivity. By reflecting back on elements of history I want to stimulate reflection on how contemporary structures and technology change and influence our way of connecting.
